Good Meals Cheap

The idea for Good Meals Cheap |dot| com © came to me in November of 2008 when we got our first taste of winter. Minus 20 degrees Celsius and a wind that bit. No snow yet, just darned cold. That kind of weather always makes me think of hot and hearty, rib-sticking food, the kind my mother used to make for us kids after we came in from tobogganing or building snow forts. I thought to myself, man, wouldn’t a nice, ooey, gooey pot of my version of Kraft Dinner go down perfectly right now! Better still, how about that “goulash” that mom used to make! Or a Christmas dinner ham with all the fixings! And from then on, all I could think of were the many dishes that she, myself and others have made over the years in an effort to combat the cold. The more I thought about it, the more I was determined to start cooking like that again and to document it here, so that others too might share in these easy to make, easy to afford meals.
